Located 5 minutes' drive from Santa Elena town centre, and 4.9 miles from Monteverde, Costa Rica. Cala Lodge is surrounded by nature on a privileged 5.7-acre property that offers trails, reading and rest areas and stunning mountain views. All rooms have rustic-style decor and full bathrooms. Some Suites may include a bathtub. Bed linen and towels are included. Guests will have access to a bird-watching deck area, a tour desk, a minibar in all rooms, and beverage sales at the front desk. There is also a sun terrace where guests can relax, read, and enjoy the view. Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport can be reached in about 2 hours and 40 minutes by car.

"We had a lovely two bedroom villa which was very well equipped. It was nice after spending many nights in hotel room. Very helpful staff who organised transport to the park and gave us details of a local company delivering food . There is a lovely trail within the property and it is walking distance from a gorgeous reserve where you can walk and then enjoy a drink on their terrace. Very special place."

"The Villa we stayed in was amazing. Two large bedrooms two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Check in was very easy. The staff were super helpful when we wanted to go out and see the sights. Breakfast was beautiful out in the deck with nature all around us."

"Friendly helpful staff. Our room in the main lodge was simple but clean. We were provided with umbrellas, and they let us use a portable heater in the room (lots of rain). The breakfast was pretty good. Good restaurant within walking distance."

"The location is surrounded by nature, the staff goes out of their way to accommodate the guests. During breakfast, we saw a white-nosed coati on the porch. It‘s a really nice place."
"We stayed in room 7 and unfortunately it was dripping into the bathroom from the roof. Not sure if this was just a temporary issue, but should be clarified in advance. Also, it was a bit cold and though the property itself is really nice, we don‘t feel like it‘s suitable for people without their own car as we had to spend a lot of money on taxi fares."

Lovely nature trail around property. Great breakfast. Staff very helpful, and able to advise on getting to both cloud forest reserves (we didn't have our own transport)."
