"A beautiful chateau set in the centre of the village. The hosts are a wonderfully warm couple, they made me feel most welcome. The visit was a cultural experience."

"The host took the trouble to telephone me prior to my arrival to advise me about facilities in the area. As a cyclist this was very helpful. The charm and character of the place cannot be overstated. My hosts were very friendly and helpful. My bicycle a was stored and charged up in a large secure garage."

"I loved this old chateau/manoir in the middle of a small village with its Ile de Bourbon (the old name for Réunion Island) fresco at the front, the peacock gates at the back and the faded grandeur inside. The hosts were charming and served a delicious breakfast in the garden, accompanied by the splashes of a very grand fountain. The door of my room opened out onto lovely bushes. I chose it because its great value for money given the ambiance and worth being out of town. It's about a 50 min drive from La Rochelle."

"I had a room without an en suite, which was fine by me, as although the bathroom was a couple of rooms away, I saw no-one. I had a basin in my room. If an en-suite is critical for you, check if the other rooms upstairs have one. For me the architecture/furnishings/general ambiance were worth it. There aren't many places nearby to eat and if you don't mind driving about 25 mins, I found a great restaurant where you eat delicious food by a lake - Les étangs de Julie."

"We really enjoyed our stay here especially the delicious breakfast in the garden. Mark and Etienne were attentive hosts and Etienne had prepared many tasty treats for us to eat."

"The breakfast was excellent with a lot of home made products using fruit from their garden. Marc and Etienne were great hosts, generous, friendly and helpful. A really interesting house, tastefully furnished. We loved our stay there."

"It was all great. The shower and loo were not ensuite but for our exclusive use through a dining room. It didn't worry us at all and there was a night light on if we needed it."

"Le cadre est magnifique, authentique. L'accueil est tout à fait fait exceptionnel. Les personnes sont respectueuses et chaleureuses. Ils sont à l'écoute de nos besoins et attentifs. Le petit- déjeuner est très copieux et les produits faits maison. C'est aussi un moment de partage et de convivialité avec d'autres personnes qui nous étaient jusque là inconnues. Nous recommandons !!!"
