Berunes is a historic, family-run farm by the Ring Road, 35 km from Djúpivogur, quietly set on a fjord between mountains and sea. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and lounges. Free WiFi is available. Berunes HI Hostel offers tiny houses and simple, cosy rooms for 2–4 guests, with private or shared bathrooms. Bed linen and towels are included. A buffet breakfast is served daily, featuring local specialities and fresh pastries. Open June–August, Berunes Restaurant serves a seasonal menu inspired by local ingredients. Limited seats, so please book ahead Located midway between Höfn and Egilsstaðir, Berunes HI Hostel offers easy access to East attractions and activities, yet quietly nestled by the fjord with the finest views.

"Wonderful stay in a local family house farm. The owner is very welcoming and can happily give me information about the history of the space. The house is gorgeous, well equipped. It feels like we are back in time. The bed are incredibly comfortable. I can only recommend for a true local stay. *the restaurant stopped operating after the high summer season. Kitchen at disposal, plan for some food ahead!"

"One of the best places we stayed in all Iceland. It’s right on the fjord with scenic views around and the accommodation itself is great! Very cosy and comfortable, with attention to detail, every room or house was special in its own way and provided everything you might need. We came for one night, but stayed for two as we didn’t want to leave. You can enjoy food from the restaurant on site or cook it in a shared kitchen. The staff and especially the owner very super nice, responsive and attentive. Highly recommend!"

"Loved the view and the big bed was amazing. Everything you need in the kitchen. And I was warmly welcomed with a piece of very delicious cake. I arrived in very bad weather and they helped me with my suitcases out of the car and up the stairs. That was very nice after a long day of traveling. Loved my stay at Narfakot ❤️ Takk Fyrir"

"여행하면서 ‘한번쯤 현지인의 실제 사는 집에 들어가보고싶다’고 생각했는데, 진짜 살고 있는 집 같은 생활감과 편안함이 있는 그런 장소였습니다. 숙박업을 위한 세련되고 정갈하게 세팅된 느낌도 좋지만, 이 숙소의 자연스러움과 편안한 느낌이 정말 좋았어요. 아기자기하지만 있을건 다 있는 야무지게 차려놓으신 조식도 부족함 없었어요! 호스트분께 정말 감사 인사 하고싶었지만, 나쁜 영어실력과 부끄러움으로 인해 마음을 전달하지 못해 여기서라도 전해봅니다. 이번 여행중 가장 기억에 남는 장소중 하나였습니다. 감사합니다~"
