Kingston Cottage

"Lovely garden to relax in, full of the sounds of nature. The air con in the bedroom is very effective and the guesthouse is spacious with a comfortable bed, cooking facilities and a large lounge. Fleur is very helpful, even giving a mobile phone for non Jamaican guests to use for calls. The area is quiet, safe and close to the universities (you can take advantage of a swim at the Olympic pool at UWI 350jd followed by a fresh coconut. )Ubers are convenient and economical ways to go downtown, to lively Kingston Night market on Tuesdays or to Kingston Dub club on Sundays. A good spot for getting into the hills too for a sample of Blue mountain coffee. Ubers from here are also great ways to meet Jamaicans and possibly find a driver to take you further afield. The breakfast is lovely at Kingston cottage and can include Ackee and saltfish at the weekend. The caretaker gardener here is really friendly and helpful."

"Unexpected Wildlife: Be advised that croaking lizards do appear unexpectedly in the rooms. Lizards are a common, harmless, and almost unavoidable part of life in tropical climates, especially in lush, garden-rich environments like this one. For some, seeing lizards adds to the authentic Caribbean experience. However, for guests who are easily startled or have a strong fear of small creatures, seeing a lizard in your room could be a significant issue. They are not dangerous but can be surprising."

"The property is conveniently located close to UWI campus. Fleur our host has been exceptionally detailed in property upkeep and even has a spare mobile for guests. The house is spotless clean and equipped with nearly all amenities. I would highly recommend this home away from home."

"The Cottage is located in a quiet area and is close to the University of the West Indies as well as the University of Technology Jamaica campuses. The location was excellent for what I needed. Breakfast options were always tasty and a mix of local and international options. The cottage was clean and spacious and there was coffee and tea available. Fleur was extremely kind and very detailed in her description of the property - if you forget something though, there is a cottage manual that gives all the information you will need for your stay. The staff on the property (Natalie and Anthony) were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The Welcome Basket with Jamaican treats was definitely an added bonus!"

"The apt. lacked the supply of napkins or paper towels when serving breakfast and also for use in the kitchenette area. Without an exhaust fan in the bathroom; a deoderizer (air refreshener) would be nice if provided."
