"We were not used to an open kitchen shared with others, however absolutely fine."
"Richard made us a fresh batch of toasted muesli and it was delicious. The room was very private and overlooking the bush. A minutes walk to the Plough and Feather which we had a lovely meal and Maha restaurant was the same. Very clean with added extras like a barbeque and pizza oven. It felt very homely."

"Excellent selection of options in the shared kitchen. It is a small lodge and we left early so it was quiet and peaceful."
"Nothing really. As long as the travelers are aware that there is not cooking facilities in the rooms it will exceed most peoples expectations."

"After a busy day of driving from Hokitika, we decided to split our drive to Kaikoura by staying at this hotel for one evening. Upon check-in the young woman clearly explained the restaurant hours, breakfast plan and how to use the outdoor jacuzzi which we definitely utilized for star-gazing later that evening. Since the hotel is literally in the middle of mountains and valleys and rivers, the views from the hotel/restaurant/villa were fantastic. We spent a few hours star-gazing the Milky Way which is our passion and one of the objectives for staying here for the evening. Given the hotel's location, the restaurant menu was quite limited which is a shame but understood given its remoteness. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for those considering....."
