"Room was initially covered in dog food and hair (at 5pm.. well after check-in time). Reception was super apologetic and called housekeeping while we went for supper. Got settled, despite other people's hair in the shower, only to find out that someone was smoking in the adjacent room, despite it being a non-smoking hotel. Spoke to reception, who advised that the smoker was the owner so there was nothing to do. Moved rooms. Paper thin walls - someone decided to take a late night call in the laundry room, right beside our room, and I learned all about their business woes. Haines Jct was a pleasant temperature while we were there, but be aware there's no climate control, just a small fan or space heater. Wasp nests left out of control. Place not as advertised, dangerous for anyone with breathing issues, and way overpriced."

"If travelling through Haines Junction, before say heading to Haines Alaska, it’s a place to crash and get some rest. But you can drive all the way through to Haines do so. But it’s ok for an overnight sleep."

"Better curtains, with black out backing. Can have allot of light come in by early am. Pillows on the weak side, as in small ones … washrooms were remodeled, new and clean at least in number 5."

"Don´t let the surroundings fool you. The room is spaciuos and very clean. The Chinese restaurant at the hotel is very good. For breakfast, do not miss the Village Bakery & Deli hidden away on the other side of the Alaska highway."

"Seems the room was t cleaned at all. Hair in the beds and in the towels. Shower still had empty soap wrappers in it."

"The rooms are spacious with 3 double beds."

"1) the amenities are not well equipped. First, the toilet paper is left half a roll. When asked for a new roll, the staff said there are still toilet paper left in the room. 2) No electric kettle in the room, we need to go a 100m to the restaurant for hot water. 3) bathroom. We are given only the tiny pieces of soap. No shower gel, shampoo or conditioner and hair dryer or any kind of that sort. 4) No hangers in the room. And there is no hanging area in the bathroom. The washing table is so small that we have to put our clothes on top of the toilet bowl. 5) The food from the Chinese restaurant. We ordered the meat and noodle, the pork or pork ribs are so hard like golf balls, this is left over meat and re-fried it again."

"Coffee pot was filthy and I nearly cut myself when I tried to clean it because - the spout was broken off. They did replace it but the second one was also dirty. The worst was that someone’s used soap was still in the shower with what I will describe only as body hair. It’s a shame because the bathroom had been updated and none of that mattered because no one is taking care of it. The glass shower doors were streaked and tracks were grimy. Floor mats were stained and the towels were literally fraying. I asked for a blanket because I could not bring myself to sleep in the bed after the room was so obviously not cleaned between guests. I did not eat in the restaurant for obvious reasons."
