It felt like you were right at home and everything was thought out, the kitchen is very comfortable with your own basket and shelf in the fridge for ingredients which was a plus! The staff are super helpful and attentive particularly Derek. The private room we stayed in was clean and matched the description."

"The kitchen was amazing with all amenities, the dorms were perfect size, very cool in the evening which was perfect! Only had to share a bathroom between 4 people. Rafa was amazing, always helpful, funny and very humble and is really invested in making the place better and maintained. Would recommend if you re going to surf and rent a bike, or if you don't mind a walk to beginners bay for surfing it s 50meters behing the main beach. The people were super chill and made it a great space to enjoy connections without being forceful"

"The hostel had such a nice and unique vibe thanks to Rafa and Derek! They are such nice and kind people and made our experience 10 times better. Nice commonarea and kitchenfacilities! The beds were comfortable and clean rooms. Every morning there is a wagon that provides fruits and vegetables at a low cost which is very nice! Very close to the beach aswell"

"It’s a bit far from beginners bay and the supermarket, but it’s not too bad. There aren’t really any big supermarkets near by, so keep that in mind - not really the hostels fault!!"

"A beautiful, calm place, with a family feel. I came for two days and ended up staying for three weeks. The place is clean with a fully equipped kitchen. And Rafa and Derek are there to help with anything you need, I'm already looking forward to coming back again!!"

"Super chill spot close to the ocean and the owner Rafa is a great guy. There are many spots to chill out around the hostel as there is lots of space(good if you want to work remotely). The ktchen is decent for a hostel and nothing to complain about the rooms.if you like chill spots, this is the place to stay!(But also made many friends there in my stay)"

"No good shops for food in popoyo so it's recommended to rent a motorbike and buy food in las salinas/limon dos or it's also possible to go to one of the big supermarkets in rivas(just ask your taxi driver) and do a big shop. This is not a problem to do with marumar but with anywhere you stay in popoyo"

"Place was very nice. Super quiet. The kitchen is very comfortable for cooking. Staff was very helpful, letting me know of places and activities that were happening during the week. The beach is close by and super big. I did the boat trip to Lances left which I super recommend. Very long and constant waves. It was one of my favorite spots 🙂"

"I stayed here with some friends. We were looking for a cheap place as popoyo can be quite expensive… but were surprised the place was very nice! we had our own bathroom and space in the kitchen. Owner let us do a BBQ at night which was awesome. There’s a couple of nice places nearby like Kooks cafe or viento oeste for pizza wich are really good. Beach is awesome and if you want to surf there’s plenty of beaches you to go. If you don´t want to spend too much but still be comfortable i would definitely recommend it 🙂"
